Privacy Policy
Fade is a camera-first nutrition and workout app. This policy explains what we collect, what we store on your device, and what we do not keep.
Nutrition results stay on your device
Meal logs, goals, corrections, workouts, and premium entitlement flags are stored locally on your device (for example in browser or app storage). Fade does not store meal photos as part of your nutrition log. Photos are used only for on-demand analysis when you choose Analyze, then discarded from the logging flow.
What is processed when you scan
- If live scanning is configured, a meal image you submit may be sent to the analysis service configured on the Fade server (for example a vision model provider) and matched against nutrition databases such as USDA FoodData Central.
- Analysis returns estimated foods and macros. The app keeps those nutrition results locally—not the photo.
- Without API keys, Fade runs in demo mode and does not call live vision services.
Optional correction sharing
Personal correction memory always works on-device. If you opt in to share an anonymous correction, Fade may send de-identified food values and match context—never your meal photo or identity—to a configured learning endpoint or durable log. You can decline sharing and still correct foods locally.
Subscriptions and purchases
Premium is offered at $9.99 per month or $69 per year (product ids com.ericscottai.fade.premium.monthly / com.ericscottai.fade.premium.yearly). Store billing is handled by Apple App Store / Google Play when native billing is connected. A local entitlement flag may be used during development; production must verify receipts server-side. Restore Purchases re-reads store entitlements when StoreKit / Play Billing is wired.
Your controls
- Export — download a JSON copy of local logs, goals, corrections, and workouts from Account.
- Delete local data — clear on-device Fade storage after confirmation.
- Camera and photo-library access are used only when you capture or choose a meal image.

Fade provides estimates for general wellness, not medical nutrition advice. Confirm allergens and clinically important values independently.
